Awesome! Awesome! Good Awesome! Awesome!
You are confused. The reason Lakefront Brewery is so great is that they focus on the beer and not the convienaint parking, or air conditioning. If it is too hot inside go outside on the patio by the river to cool off. You culd likely use the exercize of walking two blocks. If you were doing an event downtown Milwaukee you would have likely had to walk a couple blocks, and have to pay to park.

Second maybe you should stick to the Bud and Miller tours because you clearly have no pallet for beer. Lakefront has some of the best beer anywhere. Clearly Riverwest Stien was too much for you, you should have had an East Side Dark. What, aftaid of Dark Beers? Don't worry, it looks dark but is a very light refreshing beer.

As for the food, clearly you must have been expecting 5 star dining. You must be some kinda speaker. The food here is good, but it is really about the ambiance and the beer.

So to review, you are mistaken. Clearly you have such refined standards and expect 5 star dining and beer that tastes like water. Clearly Lakefront is not for you and that is great. Hopefully you won't be back to ruin my experiance. I have always had great beer and an excellent time on my 50 plus visits to Lakefront Brewery.

Great Great N/A Awesome! Great
The service rating of awesome refers to the tour guide, Russ, who obviously enjoyed being there and was very informative and entertaining. Having done dozens of these tours, I didn't expect to learn much more about brewing, but Russ taught me a couple new things.

As for the beer, it's all great, with the mild (I forget it's name at the moment) being my favorite. The IPA was also excellent, without being one of those overblown super-hopped versions - just a nice hoppily pleasing beer. Russ also offered tastes of bottled versions of their pumpkin and cherry seasonals, both of which were very enjoyable.

Also, if you like root beer, you've got to try Lakefront's. Awesome stuff.

So So So So So So Great Good
I was excited to attend a cocktail reception here for my fiancé’s company. The hall itself was very nice. Open, big and perfect for the 200-250 people invited. The said part, the food was over priced, beer was drinkable but not great and there was no air conditioning, so it was hot and stuffy. Parking was terrible, as one of the guest speakers; we parked two blocks down the road. I think it’s an interesting place to visit if you want to actually see how beer is made. It’s a far better tour then you get from Bud or Miller but I’m there to try different beers. The four or five they had were not the greatest. They were mainly heavy and bitter, all though the Amber wasn’t too bad. I wouldn’t probably go back.

As always, this is a FUN tour. However we took the 3pm tour this time and had to rush to be done by 4 to let them get ready for the fish fry. We'll take the earlier tour next time. The beer quality is outstanding, but they had a smaller selection than in years past. Oh well, it just forced me to head out to the local grocery and buy more!

I've been to many breweries/brewpubs around the country and this is, by far, my favorite. The actual tour is as described earlier. You get a pint glass, 4-5 beer tokens, and start sampling, even before the tour begins. The tours are very entertaining, and if you run out, refills during the tour are strongly encouraged. Half the time I don't even go on the tour, just get a glass, sample, and hang out at one of the many picnic tables set up within the Hall. If possible, check out the Friday night fish-frys. Their Stien beer is as good as it gets, right up there with Alaskan Amber. Arrive early as tours can quickly sell-out.

What a fantastic tour! You're given a pint glass to taste out of. They take you downstairs and fill you up. About 1/3 of the way through, you top off. then another 1/3 of the way through, you top off again. Then afterward, you have 15 minutes or so to hang out and top off again. They only had four beers on tap for the tour. The Cream City has the floral and citrus of a pale ale, but the hoppy bite on the aftertaste is moderated. I liked it, but hopheads might not. The Klisch isn't bad, more of a standard pilsner. The Riverwest is a good production of an amber lager. But the Bock... hmmm.... what a fantastic beer, smooth, rich, and oh so drinkable. I could just keep going back for more (and I did). At the fish fry I also sampled the Eastside Dark (very balanced between the malt and hops with a touch of chocolate) and the Big Easy (very full mouthfeel with a semi-sweet finish). Only wish more beers had been available on the tour.

Showed up to this joint on a Saturday evening only to find it closed for a wedding reception. Never heard of that at a brewery before.

Others have mentioned how enjoyable the tours are at Lakefront Brewery. I just want to add this observation, from our visit on a Saturday in early June. Unlike most tours that have you wait till after the tour to enjoy the beer, at Lakefront, you are encouraged to begin your sampling right after you register for the tour ($5) and get your logo pint glass and tokens. In fact our tour guide insisted that we be drinking while we followed him throughout the brewery, and encouraged us to go back to the tap area to refill during the tour if we ran out. This was indeed a really fun tour. I think there were about six beers available the day we visited, with the Eastside Dark being my favorite.

One of the most unique brewery tours I've ever been on (I've toured over 30 breweries in the U.S.). Everyone was out to have a good time. The brewers are very interesting. The owners are friendly, and big donors to the charities going on in Milwaukee. The new restaurant makes it even better. 10 plus beers on tap, plus many bottles to choose from. Great gift shop too. Brewery tour includes souvenir glass and coupon for a free tap beer at a local tavern.
